Armenia can contribute to ties between China, Eurasian Economic Union

"China is an important international partner for Armenia," Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan said

YEREVAN, June 7. /TASS/. Armenia could play a definite role in the promotion of trade between the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) and China, First Vice Premier of the People’s Republic of China, Zhang Gaoli said here on Monday as he met with Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan.

"China attaches significance to cooperation with the Eurasian Economic Union in trade and Armenia as a member-state of the EEU can contribute to the promulgation of talks in that sphere," he said.

"China is an important international partner for Armenia," Sargsyan said. "Consistent development of centuries-old Armenian-Chinese relations is among the priorities of this country’s foreign policy."

He stressed the fair pace of Armenian-Chinese economic cooperation in recent years "in spite of external economic shocks".

"Joint projects in the manufacturing and power engineering sectors, agriculture, research, technologies, and culture impart a big impulse for taking bilateral relations to a quality new level," Sargsyan said.
