ASTANA, June 6. /TASS/. Kazakhstan plans to produce 74 mln tonnes of crude oil this year, the country’s energy minister Kanat Bozumbayev said Monday.
"Taking into consideration the global oil prices around $30 per barrel the plan is to produce 74 mln tonnes by the end of this year," he said, adding that "in the first four months of this year the country’s oil output stood at 26.2 mln tonnes. "We’re 4% ahead of the current plan," the minister said. According to Bozumbayev, "rising oil prices will allow companied to accelerate drilling operations and exceed this year’s target."
In 2015, Kazakhstan’s oil and condensate production topped 79 mln tonnes, the ministry said.
