MOSCOW, May 30. /TASS/. Construction of the natural gas pipeline in the Sino-Russian border zone within the framework of the Power of Siberia project will start in June 2016, Board Chairman of China National Petroleum Corporation Wang Yilin said on Monday on the air with Rossiya 24 TV Channel.
"Construction of the gas main pipeline has already started in Russia and in China. According to our schedule, construction in the restricted border zone will start already this June. I mean the underwater crossing of the Amur River," Wang Yilin said.
China plans to complete construction of 30-80 km of the gas pipeline segment in its territory in 2016, he added.
Construction of the China’s gas pipeline segment from Heihe to Shanghai with the length of 3,170 km started in June 2015. CNPC plans to complete it in 2018. First gas deliveries from Russia may start in 2018-2019.
