Russian budget expenses increase to be challenging in 2017 — minister

The Russian Finance Ministry understands it will be difficult to increase expenses in nominal terms as compared to the current year level

MOSCOW, May 26. /TASS/. Increase of budget expenses in nominal terms will be challenging in 2017, Russian Finance Minister Anton Siluanov said on Thursday.

"We will definitely consider expenses and efficiency of expenditures. We understand it will be difficult for us to increase expenses in nominal terms as compared to the current year level," Siluanov said. The government will finally decide on the budget policy and it is premature to talk about that, he added.

Basic parameters of the 2017 budget policy will be clear in a month, Siluanov said. "I think the outline of the policy we will implement in the next year will be clear after a month," he added.
