KAZAN, May 20. /TASS/. A delegation from Qatar will take part in the St. Petersburg Economic Forum in June 2016 and will discuss investments in the oil and gas sector, Qatari Ambassador to Russia Saud bin Abdullah Al-Mahmoud said on Friday.
"A big delegation from Qatar will take part in the St. Petersburg Forum," he said at a roundtable meeting on the topic "Arab financial institutions - partnership on Russian projects" at the KazanSummit-2016 forum. The Qatari delegation, in his words, will be led by Finance Minister Al Sharif al-Imadi.
The delegation will include sovereign wealth fund chief Sheikh Abdulla bin Mohammed bin Saud Al-Thani. The Qatari fund is a partner of Russia’s Direct Investment Fund.
According to the Qatari ambassador, his country’s delegation plans to discuss projects in the oil and gas sector and investments in real estate.
The 20th St. Petersburg International Economic Forum will held in Russia’s seond largest city of St. Petersburg on June 16 through June 18, 2016. Russia’s Roscongress state-run fund that was established last year will host the forum. Key topics for discussion will include a new economic reality and new growth sources.
