SPIEF to host Arctic economic development conference first time — official

MOSCOW, May 17. /TASS/. The conference on economic development of the Arctic Region will be staged for the first time at the St. Petersburg International Economic Fund (SPIEF), Vice Premier and Chairman of SPIEF Steering Committee Sergey Prikhodko said on Tuesday

"The conference on economic development of the Arctic Region will be held on the sidelines of the Forum for the first time," Prikhodko said.

Discussions on five main areas are planned within the Forum framework: search for new development drivers, implementation of Russia’s economic potential, new geoeconomic dynamics, life in innovations epoch, and human factor in the economy.

The Forum program also comprises business summits of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and BRICS and "Business 20" forum

The twentieth St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) will be held on June 16-18 on a new site near St. Petersburg. The new economic reality and the search for new growth drivers will be key topics for discussions at the Forum.
