Jaguar to recall 177 cars in Russia due to potential engine cutoff

MOSCOW, May 4. /TASS/. OOO Jaguar Land Rover (Russian Jaguar dealer) will recall 177 XF and XE model cars in Russia sold from July 17, 2015, to date, Russia’s Federal Agency on Technical Regulating and Metrology (Rosstandart) said on Wednesday.

"The cause of recall is the probability of low pressure hood fuel supply line detachment from fuel filter as a result of improper form of fuel filter connection with quick-disconnect nipple in diesel engines of recalled cars. Vehicle engine cutoff will occur in case of hose disconnection," the regulator said.

Fuel leak may also result in odor in vehicle’s engine compartment.

Presence of holding spring on quick-disconnect connection of fuel tube will be checked and components with proper performance characteristics will be installed at cars in case of need within the recalling campaign framework.

All the repair activities will be free of charge for owners.
