Brent oil price falls 7% against backdrop of absence of Doha deal on oil production freeze

MOSCOW, April 18. /TASS/. The price for Brent oil to be delivered in June 2016 dropped 7% to $40.1 per barrel at the start of trading on the London Stock Exchange against the backdrop of agreements in Doha.

The WTI oil price fell 6.8% to $36.61 per barrel, according to the exchange’s data.

Oil producer states, which are members of the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC), as well as those states, which are not members of the organization, met on Sunday, April 17 in Doha, Qatar, to discuss stabilization of oil prices. The countries failed to reach an agreement.
