NIZHNIY NOVGOROD, March 3. /TASS/. Nizhniy Novgorod-based RDC Aqualines plans to produce and deliver the first commercial wing-in-ground (WIG) craft to the customer in summer 2017. If the customer is satisfied with the craft, series production will start, Chief Executive Officer of RDC Aqualines Pavel Tsarapkin told TASS.

"We are to deliver the first craft to the customer in 2017. We plan to start assembling the first WIG craft in December this year, construct it by summer 2017 and transfer at the end of summer," Tsarapkin said. "If the customer is satisfied with results of the pilot operation, we will start series production," he said.

RDC Aqualines signed a 10 mln euro worth contract for passenger WIG crafts with Estonian Sea Wolf Express in 2015, Tsarapkin said. The Estonian company intends to use WIG crafts at the Tallinn - Helsinki ferry route in the Gulf of Finland.
