Russia's major carmaker to export cars to Syria, Lebanon

Renault-Nissan car alliance is backing Avtovaz in its exports expansion

SAMARA, February 25. /TASS/. Russia’s top car maker Avtovaz plans to launch export supplies to Syria and Lebanon, a representative of the company’s press service told TASS on Wednesday.

"Avtovaz plans export supplies to Syria and Lebanon. Cars will be supplied via Nissan importing companies," the source said.

As TASS reported earlier Renault-Nissan car alliance is backing Avtovaz in its exports expansion: in 2015, the company was granted a possibility to use the alliance’s best international importers. That same year car supplies to Hungary and Egypt were resumed as well as export supplies to Tunisia were launched.

In 2016, Avtovaz plans to almost double car exports to Egypt to up to 6,000 (3,600 in 2015 - TASS).
