Russia will contact all players on oil markets — Kremlin

Russia's February consultations with OPEC and non-OPEC oil producers may focus on oil production cut by 5% by all participating countries

MOSCOW, January 29. /TASS/. Russia is interested in discussion and will be contacting all players on the oil markets, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Friday.

"Russia is interested in discussing the situation on the oil markets with its peers, with all parties related to formation of the market and obviously Russia will be bringing about such contacts," Peskov said, refusing to answer the question whether Russia is ready to reduce production of hydrocarbons.

On Thursday oil prices surged following the statements of Russian Energy Minister Alexander Novak about being ready to take part in the upcoming meeting of the OPEC and non-OPEC members in February. The consultations may focus on oil production cut by 5% by all participating countries.
