MOSCOW, January 18. /TASS/. Removing sanctions against Iran can contribute to the development of the Russian-Iranian cooperation in a number of areas, including energy, agriculture and the military-industrial complex, an official with Russia’s Central Bank told TASS.

"Lifting the sanctions against Iran, on the one hand, it may contribute to the development of Russian-Iranian cooperation in energy, agriculture, defense industry and other areas, and thus have a positive impact on the economies of both countries," the official said.

On January 16, the UN, EU, US lifted economic and financial restrictions against Iran that were imposed due to the Iranian nuclear program. The removal of sanctions became possible after the International Atomic Energy Agency confirmed that the Islamic Republic had complied with the terns of the nuclear deal.
