Porsche Russland to recall 15 Porsche 911 Carrera sport cars in Russia

The reason is possible inner short circuiting in ignition coils, which may result in misfiring in a relevant engine cylinder

MOSCOW, December 25. /TASS/. Porsche Russland, Russian dealer of German cars, will recall 15 Porsche 911 Carrera sport cars sold in Russia from November 5, 2013 to September 7, 2015, Russia’s Federal Agency for Technical Regulation and Metrology (Rosstandart) said on Friday.

"The reason of recall is the probability of inner short circuiting in ignition coils, which may result in misfiring in a relevant engine cylinder," the regulator said.

All six coils and sparking plugs will be replaced in cars subjected to the recall. Furthermore, the engine control unit will be reprogrammed for the purpose of optimizing the rated oil pressure in the medium rpm range of engines.

All the repair activities will be performed free of charge.
