Belarus expects price of Russian gas to be cut by more than $10 per 1,000 cu m in 2016

It is planned to agree on a particular price and prepare relevant documents until December 21

MINSK, December 18. /TASS/. Belarusian Energy Ministry expects the price of Russian gas in 2016 to be cut by more than $10 per 1,000 cubic meters, Belarus Deputy Energy Minister Vadim Zakrevskiy said Friday.

Currently, according to Zakrevskiy, Belarus and Russia are holding consultations on the issue.

Earlier, Belarus Deputy Prime Minister Vladimir Semashko said Minsk believes it is possible to reduce the price of Russian gas from January 1, 2016.

According to Deputy Prime Minister, there are all grounds to say that from January 1, the price of gas will be substantially reduced. Although, the current price of $142.37 per 1,000 cubic meters is also acceptable, he said.

Semashko said it is planned to agree on a particular price and prepare relevant documents until December 21.
