Russia sets its mind on restoring air traffic with Ukraine — transport minister

Ukraine fully stopped air traffic with Russia from October 25

MOSCOW, November 16. /TASS/. Russia has set its mind on restoring the air traffic with Ukraine, Transport Minister Maxim Sokolov said on Monday.

"We have an open position. We still intend to restore air traffic and air transportation with Ukraine, in respect of bilateral flights and transit air communications," the minister said.

"We had one meeting in Brussels. We have not received any meaningful statements from Ukraine’s counterparts thereafter. We maintain working contact at large but there is no progress in this area in interests of passengers and airlines at present because Ukrainian authorities do not want [it]," the minister said.

Ukraine fully stopped air traffic with Russia from October 25. Russia in response banned Ukrainian air carriers from flying to Russia.
