Ukraine hopes Russian natural gas price to be lower in 1Q16 - Naftogaz

The price of the Russian natural gas for Ukraine in the fourth quarter this year stands at $227.5 per 1,000 cubic meters

KIEV, November 6. /TASS/. Ukraine will continue purchasing natural gas from Russian energy giant Gazprom until the yearend and expects the gas price to be lower in the first quarter of the next year compared with the current one, Ukrainian national energy company Naftogaz head Andrei Kobolev said.

"Ukraine, in fact, continues buying gas from Gazprom and we are planning to buy certain volumes until the end of the year," UNN news agency quoted Kobelev as saying. "The price is fixed until the yearend."

"Since we hope and expect the price of the imported gas to go down in the first quarter of next year, we hope that the Russian monopolist will offer us the price, which would be competitive with the supplies of gas from the European Union," he added.

The price of the Russian natural gas for Ukraine in the fourth quarter this year stands at $227.5 per 1,000 cubic meters.
