MOSCOW, November 2. /TASS/. Gazprom Export confirms its readiness to stage an auction on natural gas supplies to Baltic states in 2016 by the end of this year, Gazprom’s export subsidiary told TASS on Monday.
Such a statement was earlier made by Gazprom’s Deputy Chief Executive Officer Alexander Medvedev.
"We plan to hold the auction on natural gas supplies to the Baltic nations in 2016 by the end of 2015," Gazprom Export said. The auction provides for gas supplies after expiry of contracts effective by the end of this year, the company said.
Details of the future auction will be provided later.
The contract on gas supplies to Lithuania will expire in 2016.
TASS reported earlier the average export price of gas deliveries to Baltic states totaled $306 per 1,000 cubic meters in the second quarter of 2015. 1.8 bln cubic meters of gas were delivered to Baltic countries in the first half of 2015, including 65% to Lithuania.
