MOSCOW, October 29. /TASS/. Naftogaz of Ukraine has transferred another $64 mln as prepayment for gas to Russian gas giant Gazprom, the Russian company said in a statement.
Earlier, head of Naftagaz Andrey Kobolev said that Ukraine would complete injection of 2 billion cubic meters of Russian gas to underground storage facilities by the end of the week.
In the fourth quarter of 2015, the price of Russian gas for Ukraine amounted to about $ 230 per 1,000 cubic meters.
On Wednesday, Energy Minister Alexander Novak said that Gazprom had received $454 million from Ukraine. Within this amount Gazprom committed to supply 2 billion cubic meters of gas.
Currently, the volume of gas that was injected to Ukraine’s underground storage facilities is about 17 billion cubic meters. The Russian minister added that this is not enough to ensure a comfortable winter heating season.
