"We have seen your country and you, esteemed Madam President, fight for Argentina’s interests in fiscal disputes. We welcome the Argentinian initiative to work out uniform and fair debt restructuring rules for sovereign states," Putin told Argentinian President Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner during a video conference on Wednesday.
He said that back in September, Russia supported the Argentinian draft along with a corresponding resolution of the UN General Assembly.
"As I have already said, we share Argentina’s firm position of principle in confronting international profiteers who are guided exclusively by decisions of U.S. national courts," the Russian head of state said.
