UFA, October 7. /TASS/. The issue of mutual payments between Russia and Iran will be solved in the nearest future, Iranian ambassador to Russia Mehdi Sanai said on Wednesday.

"The Russian and Iranian sides have come to an understanding, which means the issue will be solved in the nearest future. We’re trying to take this issue off from our agenda," he said.

"The issue of mutual payments hindered development of our economic relations [...] During the latest meeting between our presidents on the sidelines of the United National General Assembly they agreed to make efforts to solve the problem of mutual payments in the nearest future," ambassador said.

In late-2014, Russia’s Economic Development Minister Aleksey Ulyukayev said that Russia and Iran plan to introduce mutual payments in national currencies and the regulation base is already being prepared.
