Source: Transaero airline’s debt to Sberbank stands at $91 million

Sberbank was ready to initiate bankruptcy of Transaero airline

MOSCOW, October 2. /TASS/. Russian airline Transaero’s debt to the country’s largest state-owned lender Sberbank stands at six billion rubles (over $91 million), a source close to the bank told TASS.

"Transaero’s debt to Sberbank stands at six billion rubles," the source said. "But the debt does not include capital leasing arrears."

The source earlier told TASS that Sberbank was ready to initiate bankruptcy of Transaero airline.

"We are ready for initiating bankruptcy," the source said. "The bank is not accustomed to losing money for nothing.".
