Moscow-Tbilisi trade turnover should step up — Georgian president

The current situation is unprofitable for both sides, Georgian President Georgy Margelashvili says

WASHINGTON, October 1. /TASS/. Trade and economic relations between Russia and Georgia should develop in the future, Georgian President Georgy Margelashvili told TASS on Thursday, adding that the current situation is unprofitable for both sides.

"We are confident that in the future Russia and Georgia should build up their relations on the basis of those possibilities, which they have got in the spheres of trade, partnership and culture. Such relations may be profitable for Georgians and Russians," the Georgian leader said at the Woodrow Wilson Institute. First of all he urged to think about advantages of the two countries’ population. "It is to think about profits of real people living in Moscow, Khabarovsk, Yekaterinburg," Margelashvili said. He is also confident that in the future the two countries can achieve upward dynamics in the sphere of trade.
