MOSCOW, October 1. /TASS/. Gazprom started deliveries of natural gas to Azerbaijan from September 20, the Russian gas holding said on Thursday.
Average daily supplies currently amount to nearly 6 bln cubic meters of gas.
Supplies are carried out in accordance with the sale and purchase agreement closed in September 2015 for the term of five years and the renewal option. The contract provides for supply of up to 2 bln cubic meters of natural gas per year to Azerbaijan.
Import of Russian gas will make possible to satisfy additional demands of Azerbaijan for this energy resources in connection with economic growth and higher domestic consumption.
