Russia, Ukraine, EU to discuss Kiev's financial needs for purchases of Russian gas — EC

The meeting will be held "with the firm objective to finalize the so called 'Winter Package' for the winter period 2015/16

BRUSSELS, September 25. /TASS/. Kiev’s financial needs for Russian gas purchases will be discussed today during the trilateral meeting of Russia, Ukraine and the European Union in Brussels, press secretary of Vice President of the European Commission Anna-Kaisa Itkonen said on Friday.

"The parties will meet to finalize the agreement on price formula for gas, volumes and financial needs of Ukraine for stable gas supply," Itkonen said.

The meeting will be held "with the firm objective to finalize the so called 'Winter Package' for the winter period 2015/16, another EC representative said earlier.

Russia’s Energy Minister Alexander Novak, Gazprom CEO Alexey Miller, EC Vice President Maros Sefcovic, Ukraine’s Energy Minister Vladimir Demchishin and a representative of Ukraine’s Naftogaz management will take part in negotiations.

The trilateral protocol on gas supplies to Ukraine is also expected to be signed on Friday.
