MOSCOW, September 24. /TASS/. Russian Ministry of Energy expects to sign the gas agreement with Ukraine on September 25 in Brussels, Russia’s Minister of Energy Alexander Novak said on Thursday.
"We expect signing," the minister said.
Ukraine’s Naftogaz already approached Gazprom for a gas discount, the minister said. However, the decision of the Russian government will only pertain to the fourth quarter, Novak added.
"The decree of the government will pertain to the fourth quarter only," the minister said. "We agreed upon principles with the European Commission to consider the discount on a quarterly basis and not for the whole winter period," Novak said.
The discount will be smaller than in the third quarter. "Final calculations are prepared now but it will be $20 in average. The exact figure will be clear after the government decree is signed," Novak said.
