Russia-EU-Ukraine three-party gas talks will take place on Friday — source

The talks will be held in Brussels

MOSCOW, September 24. /TASS/. Russia-EU-Ukraine three-party talks on gas will take place in Brussels on September 25, a source in the Russian delegation told TASS on Thursday.

"The meeting is planned for tomorrow," the source said.

TASS reported earlier that Naftogaz and Gazprom brought their positions closer on purchasing Russian gas fort the winter period.

Miller said that all major bilateral issues were coordinated with Ukraine adding that the Russian company expects that supply of Russian gas to Ukraine on pre-paid basis will resume on October 1.

In the next few days, Naftogaz will request a discount on the customs duty from Gazprom, like it happened previous times, and Gazprom will redirect its proposals to the Russian government. "The level of prices will be compatible and competitive with countries of the European Union neighboring Ukraine," Miller noted.

In the 3rd quarter of 2015, Naftogaz refused to buy Russian gas though its price for 1,000 cubic meters was at least $20-30 less that prices for Ukraine in Europe.
