MOSCOW, September 12. /TASS/. The winter package on gas may be signed during a September meeting between Russia, the European Commission and Ukraine, a draft trilateral agreement was on agenda of the Friday meeting between Russia and the European Commission, Russia’s Minister of Energy Alexander Novak said in an interview with the Rossiya-24 television broadcaster on Saturday.
The minister said Ukraine should begin pumping gas into the underground storages as soon as possible to manage pumping 204 bcm. However this is next to impossible. In case $500 million are transferred to Gazprom’s account, the pumping may begin in late September already, he said.
The obligations of parties are reflected in the trilateral agreement, which will be on agenda of the upcoming meeting, which will feature Ukraine.
