VLADIVOSTOK, September 4. /TASS/. Russian oil is attractive for China for geographical reasons, China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) Chairman Wang Yilin told the Eastern Economic Forum on Friday.
Importing oil from Russia "has geographical benefits for China," he said adding that "China wants to diversify its oil imports." "Oil from other countries is usually imported by sea," he noted. At the same time, "importing oil from Russia by land ensures security of oil imports by the country in general," Wang said.
The first Eastern Economic Forum is underway in Russia’s Far Eastern city of Vladivostok. It will end on September 5. Investment opportunities and regional projects are presented at the platform.
