Cost of Russia's Zvezda shipbuilding project totals around $2.16 bln — Rosneft CEO

The shipbuilding plant’s portfolio of orders can be up to 1,400 vessels for different purposes.

VLADIVOSTOK, September 4. /TASS /. The cost of the Zvezda shipbuilding project is 145 billion rubles ($2.16 bln), CEO of Russia’s state oil company Rosneft Igor Sechin told reporters at the Eastern Economic Forum.

According to him, the shipbuilding plant’s portfolio of orders can be up to 1,400 vessels for different purposes.

The president said Russian oil giant Rosneft jointly with its partners is expected to invest more than 1.3 trillion rubles ($19.4 billion) in the projects in Russia’s Far East.

"Rosneft together with partners plans to invest in the near future more than 1.3 trillion rubles in the development of its Far Eastern projects. That will produce a multiplying effect of around 6.6 trillion rubles [$98.7 billion] and allow creating around 100,000 jobs," Putin said.

In the related fields, goods worth another 6 trillion rubles will be produced in the next 20 years and the Russian budget will gain additional taxes of around 4 trillion rubles, the president said.
