Share of Russian medical drugs on domestic market up to 28%

MOSCOW, August 29. /TASS/. The share of Russian manufacturers of medical drugs on the domestic market this year has been up to 28%, Industry and Trade Minister Denis Manturov told the Rossiya-24 television news channel in an interview.

"This year the segment of Russian producers on the market of pharmaceuticals has grown to nearly 28%," he said.

According to his expectations, Russian medical drugs are to take up half of the domestic market under a government program for the pharmaceutical and medical industry extending till 2020.

Manturov said two-thirds of crucial drugs were already produced inside Russia.

"Under a presidential decree, 67% of titles on the expanded list of crucial and vital medical formulas are to be manufactured in Russia. In January-June 2015 69.5% of them are produced inside the country," Manturov said.
