Russian Gold Producers Union: China interested in Russian gold mining projects

ZHAOYUAN (East China), August 28. /TASS/. Chinese companies are willing to take part in projects for the extraction of gold in Russia, chairman of Russia’s Gold Producers Union Sergei Kashuba told TASS on Friday at the Gold Mining Chinese gold industry forum.

"Over the past 10 years, Chinese investment in gold mining in Russia has been made only in exploration projects. Unfortunately, the investment was unsuccessful for the Chinese side. So now the Chinese side is primarily interested in the mining projects with the stable production schedule, a reliable team and prospects in terms of reserves," he said.

The Gold Mining forum is held for the ninth time and is focused on the development and application of innovative gold mining technologies, protection of the environment in the mining industry. This year, the forum is attended by representatives of 22 world’s major associations of golds producers and gold mining companies from Australia, Canada, Peru, Russia, the United States and South Africa.
