Debt of Ukraine gas consumers reaches $0.35 bln in 2015 — Energy Minister

Touching upon major non-payers, the minister mentioned West Ukraine’s Ivanovo-Frankivsk (63% of payments) and Ternopil (46%) regions

KIEV, August 26. /TASS/. Ukraine’s gas consumers have paid only 82% of used gas since the beginning of the year, Energy Minister Volodymyr Demchyshyn told the Cabinet meeting on Wednesday.

"As of now, the gas payment level is about 82% on average in 2015," he said, adding that the debt is estimated at about 20% of the initial target.

Touching upon major non-payers, the minister mentioned West Ukraine’s Ivanovo-Frankivsk (63% of payments) and Ternopil (46%) regions.

"All in all, the gas debt is estimated at 8 billion hryvni [$0.35 bln] in 2015, which makes almost 1.8 billion cubic meters," he said, adding that this amount of gas might be purchased by Ukraine long beforehand.
