MOSCOW, August 24. /TASS/. Ukraine’s energy company Naftogaz has addressed Russian energy giant Gazprom with a proposal to make advance payments for gas transit to Europe, a Russian business daily reported Monday.
Kommersant reported that the issue was touched upon at a bilateral meeting of company heads that took place August 21 in Minsk.
"Naftogaz suggested that Gazprom make an advance payment to the Ukrainian company on account of future payments for gas transit to Europe," the publication wrote. "Naftogaz is ready to direct the money to buy Russian gas for pumping to underground storage facilities."
