Ukraine accumulates about 14 bln cubic meters of gas in storages — Ukrtransgaz

Natural gas is accumulated with the process rate of 49 mln cubic meters a day

KIEV, August 18. /TASS/. 13.7 bln cubic meters of natural gas are currently in underground gas storages, Ukraine’s gas transport system Ukrtransgaz said on Tuesday.

According to flash reports of the Central Dispatching Department, "natural gas is accumulated with the process rate of 49 mln cubic meters a day," Ukrtransgaz said.

Ukraine "needs to purchase 5-6 bln cubic meters of gas to safely undergo the winter season," Ukrainian minister of energy and coal industry Vladimir Demchishin said earlier

"Over $1 bln is needed for that," Demchishin said, adding that funds are not yet available. Ukraine is holding negotiations with international financial institutions but "the negotiating process is dragging on," the minister added.
