MOSCOW, August 17. /TASS/. Russia’s consumer rights watchdog Rospotrebnadzor ordered on Monday confiscation of several brands of imported US wine citing violations of sanitary and epidemiological safety regulations.
The American wines at the issue are: dry white Geyser Peak Merlot (manufacturer Geyser Peak Winery), sweet white Crana Lake Moscato (manufacturer Crane Lake Cellars) and semi-dry white Gnarly Head Chardonnay (manufacturer Dellicato Family Vinayards), the watchdog said in its statement.
According to Rospotrebnadzor, an examination conducted by the watchdog established that all US wines on the list contained the level of pesticides and phthalates exceeding the allowed norms.
