MEXICO CITY, August 12. /TASS/. Venezuela is undertaking measures to call a special meeting of members of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) with Russia’s participation to work out appropriate measures in view of the next collapse of oil prices. President of Venezuela Nicolas Maduro made such a statement Tuesday.

"We are carrying out work to organize a special meeting of OPEC members to be announced in the coming days and maintain contact with member-countries of the organization," Maduro said. "An opportunity is considered to convene such a forum at the highest level and in coordination with Russia," the president of Venezuela said.

"Steps can be made at such a possible meeting of OPEC states to undertake measures for protection of the oil market in conditions of the new price drop," Maduro said.
