Russia invites ASEAN partners to first Eastern Economic Forum

The wide participation of representatives of ASEAN countries in the first Eastern Economic Forum will undoubtedly be another important mechanism for boosting cooperation, Foreign Minister Lavrov says

MOSCOW, August 5. /TASS/. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has confirmed that the first Eastern Economic Forum will be held in Vladivostok between September 3 and 5. He said as much during the Russia-ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) ministerial meeting on Wednesday. The text of his speech has been posted on the website of the Russian Foreign Ministry.

"The wide participation of representatives of your countries in the first Eastern Economic Forum, which will be held in Vladivostok from September 3 to September 5, will undoubtedly be another important mechanism for boosting our cooperation," the minister said. "Everyone present here has received an invitation to this forum. We are looking forward to your visit, the more so since a separate Russia-ASEAN session is planned at the forum."
