HANOI, August 3. /TASS/. Russian nuclear energy corporation Rosatom and Vietnam’s state-owned Vietnam Electricity (VPN) signed the master framework agreement on implementation of the first phase of Ninh Thuan 1 nuclear power plant construction project, Rosatom said on Monday.
"Signing of the agreement that took place during the first meeting of the joint Russia-Vietnam working group on Ninh Thuan nuclear power plant is one of critical steps in implementation of the first Vietnam’s nuclear power plant construction project," Rosatom reported.
Russia and Vietnam signed the agreement on the first nuclear power plant construction in Vietnam in October 2010. The agreement stipulates construction of two units of Ninh Thuan nuclear power plants with the capacity of 1,200 MW each.
