KIEV, July 24. /TASS/. Ukraine asked Belarus to review the possibility of gas transit from the Baltic States to Ukraine, the head of the Ministry of Energy and Coal Industry department of European integration, Michael Bno-Ayriyan, wrote on his Twitter page Friday.
According to him, the clause is a part of the protocol of the 23rd meeting of the intergovernmental Ukrainian-Belarusian commission on trade and economic cooperation.
"We included our desire to transit gas through the territory of Belarus from the Baltic States - Klaipeda LNG [Lithuania - TASS]," he said.
At the same time Bno-Ayriyan admitted the difficulties of the project implementation, as the LNG plants in Belarus belong to Gazprom. "But we still reached out to our Belarusian friends with a request to review such possibility," he added.
