Russia continues negotiating western gas supply route with China — deputy PM

It is not clear whether it will be signed in the course of the forthcoming visit of President Putin to China

IRKUTSK, July 22. /TASS/. Russia is continuing negotiations with China to close the contract on natural gas supplies over the Western Route [gas supplies from West Siberian fields to China - TASS] but it is not clear whether it will be signed in the course of the forthcoming visit of President Putin to China, Deputy Prime Minister Arkady Dvorkovich said on Wednesday.

"Negotiations are intensive. I know talks are underway. There is progress on the whole but I cannot say how much time is needed: whether the contract is signed [during the forthcoming visit of Vladimir Putin to China] or not, Dvorkovich said.
