KIEV, July 16. / TASS / Ukraine is interested in buying natural gas from Kazakhstan and is ready to appeal to the European Commission with a request to assist in the negotiation process on this issue, said the country's Minister of Energy and Coal Industry Vladimir Demchishin at a meeting of the Joint Ukrainian-Kazakh commission on economic cooperation on Thursday.
"We are ready to buy gas from Kazakhstan. It is necessary to return to this issue. There are difficulties with its transit, but we must deal with the question," said the Head of the European Integration Ministry, Mikhail BNO-Hayriyan.
According to him, Kiev "needs the transit and supply of Central Asian gas." "It is necessary to engage the European Commission. We are ready to appeal to the European Commission to assist in the negotiations with our common neighbor [Russia], so that they pump the gas."
