Aluminum prices to reach new lows in 2015 — Rusal CEO

China may boost its exports by 30% this year

ST. PETERSBURG, June 18. /TASS/. Prices for aluminum may reach new lows by the end of 2015, mainly due to growth of Chinese exports, Rusal CEO Vladislav Solovyov told TASS at St. Petersburg International Economic Forum on Thursday.

"China, which according to forecasts may boost its exports by 30% this year, is influencing the global market most of all. Inside this export there is pretty much quasi-export, meaning this is export of primary aluminum under the pretense of value-added products. This all is putting a serious pressure on global prices so soon we may witness new lows," he said.
