ST.PETESBURG, June 18 /TASS/. Foreign companies from China, Taiwan and Singapore may participate in the construction of a bridge over the Kerch Strait, Roman Starovoit, the head of the Russian Federal Road Agency (Rosavtodor) told TASS in the corridors of the 2015 St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) on Thursday.

"Today it would be premature to speak about subcontractors or the conclusion of subcontracts because according to the schedule fixed in a state contract with the general contractor, we are to submit the draft project to the Main State Department of State Expertise (Glavgosexpertiza) before the end of June 2015," Starovoit said.

"We will be able to talk about concrete firms and companies only after we get a positive conclusion. But I know that the general contractor is holding negotiations with several companies, at least with five. They include foreign companies from China, Taiwan and Singapore," Starovoit said.

According to him, the general contractor for the Kerch Strait Bridge construction is also holding negotiations with major Russian bridge construction companies.
