Russian Helicopters already holds contracts for new version of world's heaviest helicopter

Mi-26T2 is the upgraded version of Mi-26T helicopter with new avionics making possible to reduce the crew to 2-3 people and use it at night

LE BOURGET, June 17. /TASS/. Russian Helicopters company already has several contracts for the heavy transport helicopter Mi-26T2, Chief Executive Officer of the holding company Alexander Mikheev said on Wednesday.

"As you can see, we are presenting an upgraded version of the heaviest helicopter in the world here [in Le Bourget]. It enjoys a fairly high demand now and we hold signed contracts," Mikheev said.

Mi-26T2 is the upgraded version of Mi-26T helicopter with new avionics making possible to reduce the crew to 2-3 people and use it at night. Serial production of the version started in May.
