Naftogaz of Ukraine reduces Russian gas import twice

In January-May of 2015 gas import to Ukraine amounted to roughly 8.8 bln cubic meters, which is 29.5% less than in the same perion in 2014

MOSCOW, June 10. /TASS/. Naftogaz of Ukraine has halved the import of Russian gas, according to Ukrtransgaz statistics published Wednesday.

As of June 8, Russian gas import amounted to 14.4 mln cubic meters against the maximum level of 33 mln cubic meters on June 3. Since June 4 the volume started to decline and on June 5-6 was around 18 mln cubic meters, and 15.2 mln cubic meters on June 7.

As TASS reported earlier, in January-May of 2015 gas import to Ukraine amounted to roughly 8.8 bln cubic meters, which is 29.5% less than in the same perion in 2014.

Naftogaz has reduced gas import from Slovakia by 22%, resuming gas purchases from Hungary, according to Hungarian FGSZ and Slovak Eustream gas transmission networks.

Starting from June 10, Ukraine started to purchase gas from Slovakia in the amount of 21 mln cubic meters against 26-27 cubic meters in the beginning of the month.

At the same time Naftogaz of Ukraine resumed gas import from Hungary on June 4.
