Russia's oil production increased to 45.3 mln tonnes in May

MOSCOW, June 3. /TASS/. In May, 2015 Russia maintained its leadership in global oil production, increasing production to 45.3 mln tonnes, according to the Central Dispatching Department of Fuel Energy Complex.

Average daily oil production in Russia in May reached 10.7 mln barrels per day. At the same time, the production of Saudi Arabia in May, according to OPEC, was 10.25 mln barrels per day. This trend continues for several months: in March and April Russia also produced roughly 10.7 mln barrels a day, and Saudi Arabia only 10.3 mln and 10.3 mln barrels per day, respectively.

Bashneft became the leader in terms of oil production growth in Russia in May. The company’s production accounted for 1.606 mln tonnes, which is 9.4 % more than in May, 2014. After five months, the company increased its production by 10% to 7.8 mln tonnes.

Gazprom oil also showed production growth in May by 6.9% to 4.6 mln tonnes, Lukoil - by 1.1% to 7.35 mln tonnes, Tatneft - by 1.1% to 2.27 mln tonnes, Surgutneftegaz - by 0.4% to 5.23 mln tonnes. The leader of oil production in May is Rosneft while cutting the production by 0.5 % to 17 mln tonnes.

In the first five months of 2015 Rosneft produced 83.1 mln tonnes, 0.9% less than in the same period in 2014, Lukoil - 35.91 mln tonnes, increasing by 0.3%, Surgutneftegaz - 25 mln tonnes, increasing by 0.4%, Gazprom oil - 22 mln tonnes, increasing by 5.4%, Tatneft - 11 mln tonnes, increasing by 0.8%.

In general, in five months of 2015, oil production in Russia increased by 1.2% and reached 220.3 mln tonnes.
