Slovakia will have six operable nuclear reactors after construction of the third and fourth units at the Mochovce Nuclear Power Plant is over

GORKI, June 2. /TASS/. Slovakia is interested in closer cooperation with Russia in the nuclear energy sector, visiting Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico said on Tuesday.

"We have discussed the issue of recycling nuclear waste. We have agreed with the economics minister to look at this issue more thoroughly," he told a news conference.

He said that after the construction of the third and fourth units [at the Mochovce Nuclear Power Plant] was over, Slovakia would have six operable nuclear reactors.

Apart from that, he said, cyclotron-related subjects had been raised at the talks. "We asked the Russian side to submit its offers concerning possible uses of this equipment now placed in the town of Dubna," Fico said.
