Putin regrets that Russia’s talks on Ukraine-EU Association Agreement still not started

The president reminded that Ukraine-EU Association Agreement concerns Russia’s economic interests as well

MOSCOW, May 20. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin regrets that Russia’s talks on Ukraine-EU Association Agreement have not started.

"Unfortunately, talks [on Ukraine-EU Association Agreement] have still not started," Putin told a governmental session on Wednesday.

At a session, Putin asked Economic Development Minister Alexey Ulyukayev to report the results of his recent visit to Brussels to participate in talks on this issue. The president reminded that Ukraine-EU Association Agreement concerns Russia’s economic interests as well, and that is why its implementation was postponed to 1 January 2016. Before that, negotiations between Russia, EU and Ukraine should take place to solve problems that could arise after the agreement enters into forces. However, the talks have still not started.
