MOSCOW, March 31. /TASS/. The National System of Payment Cards (NSPC) acceptance network will be comparable with Visa and MasterCard by mid-2016, NSPC head Vladimir Komlev said on Tuesday.
"We see banks are supportive of the project. I believe NSPC card acceptance coverage will be very close to acceptance of cards of other payment systems we are accustomed to by mid-2016, probably in fall. This will be nearly 100%," Komlev said.
TASS reported earlier NSPC launched the clearing center to process internal Russian transactions with cards of international payment systems on March 31. NSPC will start processing internal Russian transactions with MasterCard cards of all banks from April 1. Transfer of Visa cards internal Russian traffic will be completed in the coming months, the Bank of Russia said.
