Ukraine’s Naftogaz confirms plans to open permanent establishment in Brussels

A European source told TASS Ukraine’s state gas company will open a representative office in Brussels in order to provide contacts with the European Commission (EC), European regulators and partners

KIEV, March 30. /TASS/. Ukraine’s Naftogaz confirmed plans to open a permanent establishment in Brussels, a representative of the company told TASS Monday.

"Naftogaz will release details later," the representative said.

Earlier on Monday, a European source told TASS Ukraine’s state gas company will open a representative office in Brussels in April in order to provide contacts with the European Commission (EC), European regulators and partners.

"Preparations to the opening of the representative office are almost finished, the office should be opened already in April," he said, adding that the structure will not be involved in commercial activities.

The issue is about "a representative office with several employees," he said. "Its key task will be providing contacts with the EC, European regulators and partners," he added.

In April, another ministerial trilateral meeting of Russia, Ukraine and the European Commission will take place in Brussels for defining the conditions of gas supplies to Ukraine and its transit to the European Union in the period ending in October. Russia’s gas giant Gazprom and Naftogaz have been invited to participate in the meeting.
